What is Change Makers?

Change Makers is an after-school program for young people who care about their community and the planet and want to make a difference.

We provide young curious humans with a fun and safe environment to explore and connect to the world we live in. Through engaging activities, games, discussions and nature play they will develop the skills, knowledge and agency to be the change they wish to see in the world. 

Not sure if this is right for your child? They are welcome to join our group for one session totally free!

We offer free pick-up from St Kilda Primary School.

Please note: We will be spending time outdoors in nature at the nearby Yalukit Willam Nature Reserve and canal whenever possible but pickup and drop off will be at this location.

  • That depends on the weather and the young humans that show up! All of our sessions are driven by the change makers themselves.

    Some days we spend time outside exploring the nearby park, following our curiosity and connecting with nature. Other times we are busy working on projects that address issues we care about.

  • Meg and Jo run these sessions.

    Meg (she/her) has been working in the social and environmental justice space for over 10 years as an educator, writer, researcher and communicator. She is the facilitator for the Senior Change Makers.

    Jo (she/her) is a seasoned educator and assistant principal who has been working hard to revolutionise education for many years. She is the faciliator for Middle Change Makers.

    We both hold either VIT registration or a Working With Children Check.

  • Meg or Jo will meet the change makers at a pre-arranged location just outside the school at 3:30 pm. They will then travel to the Elsternwick Park Tennis Centre by tram.

  • Junior and Middle-Years Change Makers: $25 (charged by the term)

    Senior Change Makers: $27 per session (charged by the term)

    We offer discounts for siblings and concession card holders. Fees are negotiable for those families on lower income.
